ATL hosts exclusive student network events!

Student teachers - Do you want the opportunity to learn more about a topic that will really help you as you begin your teaching career? Do you want the chance to meet other student teachers and share your knowledge and experience?

ATL values our student and newly qualified members. You are the future of the teaching profession and the union. That's why we are extending our ATL Future programme to include regional-based ATL Future networks. These network events are open to student and newly qualified teachers to come along and meet fellow colleagues and NQTs in the area to share experience and knowledge and to find out more about support from ATL. The events will be themed around topics that will be useful to you as you begin your teaching career such as, applying for jobs, school trips, behaviour management, teaching & the law, continuing professional development and many more.

In 2008 we visited Sheffield, Belfast, Birmigham, Brighton and Bristol to talk about behaviour, special needs, induction, drama, child protection, taking students off-site, work-life balance and health and safety.

Further dates, venues and topics will be confirmed soon but if you would like to register your interest or suggest a topic you and your colleagues would be interested in please do get in touch at ATLfuture@atl.org.uk giving us your name, address and phone number, as well as the area that you would like to attend. We will definitely be holding events in all of the listed areas, so please do get in touch and register your interest and we will get back to you.
