A is for austerity

ATL Future has the future of the teaching profession and the education of young people at the heart of all we do. But recent coalition government policies in England are threatening that future.

A is for Austerity explores why we believe this to be the case. We hope it will provoke further discussion and that union members and young people will work together more closely to raise their concerns and resolve their issues.

We want a generation of young people with high aspirations and engagement in their education, supported by adequate resources, services, and motivated and talented education professionals who will help them achieve their full potential in life.

We implore our ministers and political leaders to work towards the same goal.
